Crime Scene at Duke!

Jason here........at Duke..........with Christy..........waiting. So far, Christy and I have had less than minimal sleep, two half-lousy meals, watched two episodes of Torchwood, and have had countless consults and interruptions by doctors, nurses, and countless other medical professionals.

Christy and I had some downtime between our boredom and enui, and we decided to take a couple of laps around the floor. We noticed this scene, which I photographed below. After a minute of logical deducing, I realized that this patient MUST have died; and most likely from waiting for their own desensitizing!

Alas, I kid; the patient in that room is fine. They put the faux crime scene tape up themselves.

That is hilarious! I hope that things speed up for you. Have you had desensitizing before, Christy?

I'm on Meropenum right now. That's what gives me the insomnia (I already take Ambien!!!!) and it is also making me go crazy with itching. There's no rash, but the itching on my palms is going to send me insane! I remember Lauren (LightNLife) having the same problem with her IV abx but don't think she found a solution.

Glad Jason is there to keep you entertained!

You're Christy? LOL
I just read the last few posts and have learned so much. Wow.
I'm glad you have such a funny/witty husband there to keep you entertained! I'll be thinking of you and hope all goes well!

Thanks guys!! Yes Debbi, I have had countless desensitizations.
Have you tried IV Benadryl for the itching? I have to take 25 mg of it before every dose of IV antibiotic. It makes me sleepy the first couple of doses, but then your body builds up a tolerance for it. It really helps with the itching, which is something I have even if I'm desensitized.
There is also another oral medication that is used for itching if you can't tolerate the benadryl. You could ask your doctor about it. I just can't remember the name of it.

To Jason: You're Hilarious!

Your daughter is gorgeous (you both are), but she looks sooooo much like your sis....must be the brown hair! =)

Thanks for the comment on my blog! I am really liking anatomy! I know a lot of terms just from hearing them over the last few years...I was surprised at how much I have already learned from that! That is great that your daughter is already taking it in 7th grade!! I wish I would of had it at that age!

Hope all goes well at the hospital and that you are not too bored!
