My good friend Nina Feinzig passed away today. I never got to meet her in person; only through an online CF forum. It is like that with so many of my CF friends. Nina was such a sweet person... always caring about others more than herself. She will be greatly missed. Thanks everyone for keeping her in your prayers. Cystic Fibrosis has taken the life of so many of my friends. It's a very depressing day.
As Casey said in a recent paper she wrote, CF may not be as common as breast cancer and other diseases, but it sure is devastating for the families and loved ones of those affected by it. I know of no other disease that involves so many body systems and so many problems. I do hope there is a cure one day.

I am so sorry Christy, it never gets any easier even after many losses. I am thinking of you...love u!
Oh no...
I remember her from cf2chat. Breaks my heart. It's far too much sometimes to think about all of the friends we've lost starting at such a young age. Makes me more thankful than ever, and also more sad than ever.
I am sorry to hear about your friend, Christy... I didn't realize she was from AZ... Phoenix? I wonder if she went to the same CF clinic as me? It just reminds me how far we have to go to cure CF... too many stories like this. Hugs to you
I am so very sorry. CF has always been a fear of ours(hubby had a cousin with it). A.J. was tested when she was little, but thank goodness did not have it. My husband also had one of his good friends in grade school(a little girl) pass away from cf. He took me to her grave site one time. He still can hardly talk about it. However, he is so proud of the treatments that are available now. Once again, I am so sorry Christy. I know personally that just because a friend is online, they can be even closer to you that ones you have already met.
I was googling for Nina. She and I used to date, but have been out of touch for a while. When did she pass? PLease give me more info.

i was nina's sister. i was just doing a google search in her name, as the anniversary of her passing is today (jewish calander). it has been really nice hearing all the wonderful things people have to say about her. She was not afraid of her CF and has been a big speaker for more research. She is most certainly missed.
Sorry LHH and Brian. I am just now seeing your comments. I knew Nina from our CF group online, and we chatted for several years. She certainly never got her disease get to her like so many. She seemed happy until the end. Brian, it's been almost a year now (a year on the Jewish calendar).
LHH, we all still talk about her on our forums and she will never, ever be forgotten. Everyone who got to know her loved her for sure. :)
hI did Nina's taxes for years and always looked forward to her annual "visit". She wasn't just a client, but a wonderful friend with such a brave sweet soul.
AMEN! :) Nina fought the good battle. That she did. And like you guys, not one day goes by here with out me thinking of her. My daughter even started talking about her and trying to figure out the whole concept of heaven. Its hard to explain that shes here with us, but you cant see her.
